We have received many requests from creators who wish to use MARTH’s music in their own videos.
By using YouTube’s built-in features, anyone can easily use MARTH’s sound as background music (BGM) for free and without copyright concerns—even if you do not own the CD.
MARTH’s music is not managed by external copyright organizations like JASRAC. It is managed directly by the artist and the master rights holder. Therefore, no prior application or royalty payments are required to use his music as BGM on YouTube.
Detailed steps are explained below with reference to the screen settings.
Step-by-Step Instructions for YouTube (Shorts)

1. Upload your video
Open the YouTube app and start the upload process.
2. Tap “Add sound”
At the top-center of the editing screen, tap the “Add sound” button.

3. Search for the artist or song title
Enter keywords into the search bar.
[Pro Tip!] Searching in English, such as “MARTH” or “Daddy MARTH,” will yield more accurate results than searching in Japanese.

4. Select the music
A list of MARTH’s songs and albums will appear.
Tap the one that best fits your video’s atmosphere.

- Example: In this guide, we are selecting “Daddy” from the album “HATENAKI.”
- Tap the blue “arrow” (→) button to proceed.

5. Adjust the music timing
A waveform will appear at the bottom of the screen. Drag it left or right to select the specific part of the song you want to play. Once adjusted, tap “Done.”
[Troubleshooting] If the waveform does not appear, try tapping the song title displayed at the top of the screen.

6. Enter the title and upload
Fill in your video title and description, then tap “Upload Short” to publish your video!
⚠️ About the “Copyright” notice after uploading
After uploading your video, you may see a notice in YouTube Studio stating “Restrictions: Copyright.” This is an automated detection by “The Orchard Music,” the company officially entrusted with MARTH’s digital music distribution.
However, if you check the details, the following message will be displayed:
“Copyright-protected content found. The copyright owner allows the content to be used on YouTube.”

Please rest assured that this is not a “copyright strike” or a violation. It simply indicates that the content is being used with the official permission of the creator. Your video will not be deleted, and your account will not be penalized.
We hope MARTH’s healing melodies help you in your creative journey!
